About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work on one of Quarto's newest children's imprints, Happy Yak. Launched in 2021, Happy Yak publishes award-winning pre-school, picture books, and illustrated non-fiction for children aged 0-8.

  • You will lead the publishing program for Happy Yak, including commissioning and acquiring new titles, presented at the weekly Publishing meeting.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Director to achieve the budget set by the Finance Team/CEO for the given year.
  • Manage key stakeholder relationships, including authors and brand partnerships.
  • Stay up-to-date with trends in publishing and the wider world to ensure our publishing program meets consumer demands.
About You

We are looking for someone with experience working at Editorial Director level across various Children's formats. Understanding of early years development and pre-school publishing is a plus, along with strong commercial insight and awareness of current trends.

The ideal candidate should be able to enhance a publishing program creatively and commercially, manage tight deadlines, and juggle multiple urgent tasks.
