Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting and supporting the communications team in planning and executing all activities. This includes ensuring the smooth operation of the team, maintaining accurate calendars, engaging in brainstorming sessions, conducting research, and managing outreach to influencers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day activities of the communications team.
  • Maintain accurate calendars for editorial schedules, press conferences, events, and media lists.
  • Engage in brainstorming and planning sessions to contribute to strategic communications initiatives.
  • Conduct research to support PR planning and campaign development.
  • Manage outreach to influencers and coordinate related events.
  • Liaise with internal teams to gather and coordinate communications information and assets.
  • Draft and distribute content such as briefing notes and press releases.
  • Support relationships with stakeholders, media, vendors, and other relevant parties.
  • Assist in tracking media coverage and PR metrics.
  • Respond to image requests and develop supporting communications materials for press packs and other needs.
  • Manage department subscriptions and proofread all communications materials.
  • Cultivate and maintain a network of industry stakeholders and stay informed about arts media coverage and developments.
  • Keep accurate data sheets and maintain up-to-date press lists.
  • Support with questions and queries from junior/temp colleagues.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Some previous experience of working in a communications team or related field.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Creative and enthusiastic approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and social media platforms.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is £35,000 per annum, with benefits including 25 days annual leave, pension scheme, and opportunities for career development.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time permanent position, Monday to Friday, 10am-6pm. Hybrid working arrangement is available. Some flexibility required to account for different time zones. Potential to work weekends at busy times.
