**Job Title:** Community Midwife Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled Community Midwife Specialist to join our team at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a specialist in community midwifery, you will provide expert care to women throughout their pregnancy, labor, and postnatal period.
**Job Responsibilities:**
- Deliver high-quality, woman-centered care in both hospital and community settings
- Act as an advocate for women and their babies, ensuring evidence-based care and adherence to current guidelines
- Support the increase in homebirth rates and midwife-led unit births, aligned with the continuity of carer model
- Manage emergencies such as shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, and neonatal resuscitation with confidence
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff, including student midwives and healthcare assistants
**Requirements:**
- Registered Midwife with valid NMC pin
- Completed preceptorship
- Competences: perineal suturing, IV drug administration, cannulation
- Mentorship/SSSA
**Salary:** £32,000 - £43,041 per annum (dependent on experience)
