Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities and Services Unit Manager to join our team at the Ministry of Justice. As a key member of our establishment, you will be responsible for the management of food services, facilities, and services within the prison.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the provision of meals for prisoners, ensuring quality and quantity meet established standards.
  • Monitor and maintain a safe working environment, reporting faults and requesting repairs as necessary.
  • Oversee the achievement of Service Level Indicators within the unit, verifying and signing off documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with Food Safety Management systems and Hygiene Assessments.
  • Undertake Risk Assessments and respond to hazards as required.
  • Manage the catering budget, including estimating, ordering, and resource utilization.
  • Act as point of contact for external and internal stakeholders visiting the kitchen.
  • Implement national policy and contribute to local policy development for catering.
  • Collect, collate, and analyze data concerning the catering function.
  • Train wing food handlers on hygiene standards.
  • Carry out kitchen inspections and audit preparation.
