About the Role

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our team at University Hospital Wishaw. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support, working closely with registered nurses and clinicians to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide routine personal care and assist with examination duties for patients, under the supervision of a registered nurse or clinician.
  • Ensure a person-centred approach to care delivery, prioritising patient safety and well-being.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and organised ward environment.
  • Develop effective working relationships with colleagues and patients, promoting a positive and supportive team culture.
  • Participate in on-the-job training and induction, and undertake mandatory HCSW standards.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of personal care and related procedures, or previous experience in a health, education, or social environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment, with a strong focus on patient safety and well-being.

Location

This role will be based in Ward 5 at University Hospital Wishaw, with opportunities to work across various departments and teams within NHS Lanarkshire.
