SEND Activity Worker for Children and Young People

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Activity Worker to join our team at Barnardo's. As a key member of our Short Breaks service in Trafford, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people with complex needs to build friendships, communicate effectively, and have a voice.
Key Responsibilities- Work as part of a team to deliver 1:1 and 2:1 support, as well as group work within Holiday Clubs
- Support children and young people to develop their social skills, confidence, and independence
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a comprehensive and tailored approach to meeting the needs of each individual
- Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our service users
- Desire to work with children and young people with SEND
- Ability to confidently engage with children and young people of varying ages and abilities
- Excellent team working skills, with a focus on collaboration and communication
- Safeguarding knowledge and good recording skills
- Ability to meet the medical, physical, emotional, and personal needs of our service users, including managing behavior and personal care
- Comprehensive training package, including first aid, safeguarding, and care of medicines
- Quarterly supervision and team trainings
- Mileage paid at 45p per mile, with 50p for transporting a young person or colleague
- Rolled-up annual leave pay
- Robust lone and safe working protocol with on-call support
