Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Activity Worker to join our team at Barnardo's. As a SEND Activity Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people with complex needs to build friendships, communicate effectively, and have a voice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a team to support children and young people with complex needs in a 1:1 and group setting within Holiday Clubs.
- Develop and implement individualized plans to meet the needs of each child and young person.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to children and young people, promoting their social, emotional, and behavioral development.
- Collaborate with other professionals to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to supporting children and young people.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people.
Requirements:
- Desire to work with children and young people with SEND.
- Ability to confidently engage with children and young people of varying ages and abilities.
- Excellent team working skills and ability to work collaboratively with other professionals.
- Safeguarding knowledge and good recording skills.
- Ability to meet the medical, physical, emotional, and personal needs of children and young people, including managing behavior and providing personal care as detailed in the care plan.

- Comprehensive training package, including first aid, safeguarding, care of medicines, personal and intimate care, behavior intervention training, and other child-specific requirements.
- Quarterly supervision and team trainings.
- Mileage paid at 45p per mile and 50p when transporting a young person or colleague.
- Rolled-up annual leave pay.
- Robust lone and safe working protocol with on-call support.
