Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Children and Young People's Practitioner to join our team at Barnardo's. As a key member of our Stratford District Children & Family Centre, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality services to families, promoting positive outcomes for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver direct services to families through one-to-one support, groups, activities, and courses, focusing on children aged 0-11 years and their parents, as well as some groups for young people up to 19 years (25 years with SEND).
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals to ensure a cohesive and effective service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents, carers, and other stakeholders to promote trust and engagement.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service plans, ensuring alignment with Barnardo's strategic objectives.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge, staying up-to-date with best practices in early years and youth work.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and practical experience of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and a childcare qualification to at least level 2.
  • Experience of working with and supporting young children and their parents/carers, with a focus on vulnerable and disadvantaged groups.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the service and its users.
  • Desirable: experience of delivering Early Years services in community settings and qualified to deliver Baby Massage and Chatter Matter's courses.
