Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join Barnardo's as a Children and Young People's Practitioner, working with families and young people in the Rugby District. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality services that support the well-being and development of children and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver one-to-one support, groups, activities, and courses to families and young people, focusing on early intervention and prevention.
  • Work with children aged 0-11 years and their parents, as well as some groups for young people up to 19 years (25 years with SEND).
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure effective collaboration and support.
  • Conduct assessments, create plans, and evaluate progress to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, training, and professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices and industry developments.
Requirements
  • Experience of working with children and young people, particularly in a community or early years setting.
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and ability to apply it in practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with parents, carers, and other professionals.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the service.
  • Qualifications in childcare or a related field, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
