Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join our team at BOC, a leading provider of industrial, medical, and special gases in the UK and Ireland. As an HR Advisor, you will play a key role in providing expert advice on employee relations and management issues, leading important HR processes, and ensuring that managers are equipped to manage their own grievances, disciplinaries, performance, and management processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice on employee relations and management issues, including disciplinary and grievance cases.
  • Lead important HR processes, such as recruitment, compensation planning, promotions, and objective setting, in line with HR guidelines.
  • Coordinate organisational changes to meet business needs, including restructures, outsourcing, relocation, job development opportunities, and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Ensure that managers are fully equipped to manage their own grievances, disciplinaries, performance, and management processes, including complex cases.
  • Work closely with the HR Manager to forecast workforce demand and identify opportunities to improve performance through metric analysis.
  • Monitor absence and manage long-term sickness cases.
  • Travel up to 30% of the time to visit our sites and offices.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
  • Background in engineering, manufacturing, or logistics organisations.
  • Experience in advising managers on employee relations and management issues.
  • Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Experience of leading critical HR processes, such as recruitment, performance reviews, compensation planning, promotions, etc.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage complex cases, with a strong process-driven mindset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and in a team environment.
  • Proven experience of managing organisational changes.
  • Proficient in using HR management software and the Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
  • CIPD qualification or relevant HR degree is desirable.
