To be considered for this position, applicants must hold a Full GMC Registration.

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring seamless handovers to colleagues, including out-of-hours coverage
  • Conducting thorough mental state reviews in accordance with hospital procedures
  • Ensuring each patient undergoes a comprehensive physical health screen upon admission, including physical examination, ECG, and blood tests
  • Leading the management of any physical health concerns that arise during the patient's inpatient stay
  • Seeking collateral history from other professionals and family members
  • Preparing discharge letters, reports, and s62 forms in a timely manner
  • Assisting with mental health review tribunal and Hospital Managers' hearing reports under the supervision of a Consultant

The following skills and experience would be beneficial for the role:

  • Experience working in psychiatry within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Good standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists
  • Accreditation or pending accreditation in Forensic psychiatry with the GMC
  • Recent appraisal or RITA within the last year

The successful Consultant Psychiatrist will receive a competitive salary up to £150,000 per annum. This permanent full-time role involves working 37.5 hours a week. In return for your hard work and commitment, you will receive:
