Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Museum Visitor Experience Manager to join our team at Wellcome Collection. As a key member of our Visitor Experience & Engagement team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our world-class museum, ensuring a high-quality, interactive, and multi-layered experience for our visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and motivate a team of Visitor Experience & Engagement Hosts and Facilitators, modelling Wellcome's values and providing a creative, diverse, collaborative environment.
  • Develop and implement strategies to continuously improve the visitor experience, depth of engagement, and accessibility and inclusiveness of Wellcome Collection.
  • Act as the primary point of contact to resolve escalated visitor issues and complaints, demonstrating exceptional customer service skills.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure a seamless and engaging experience for visitors, including exhibitions, events, and educational programs.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the effective management of the museum.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in venue management in a cultural and/or heritage setting, with a track record of delivering results and developing and motivating high-performing teams.
  • Excellent people management skills, with the ability to build a positive working culture through a strong coaching and collaborative management approach.
  • Demonstrable experience of acting as the primary point of contact to resolve escalated visitor issues and complaints.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including staff, visitors, and external partners.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
