About the Role

This exciting role sits within our Exhibitions and Galleries team and requires creativity, teamwork, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail.

As an Interpretation Developer, you will be responsible for researching and developing the Natural History Museum's exhibitions and displays. You will develop narratives and interpretation approaches, write and edit exhibition text, and work closely with Museum scientists to tell accurate and inspiring stories about the natural world.

You will use interpretation methods that engage target audiences from text to hands-on exhibits, film, and illustration, ensuring that our exhibitions are accessible, inspiring, informative, and suited to our audiences' needs.

About You

You are a highly committed individual, experienced in researching, developing, and delivering content and interpretation in a museum, gallery, heritage site, or a similar environment.

You are an excellent writer with a good understanding of the exhibition development and design process and are accustomed to using collections to tell compelling stories and communicate messages.

You can also adjust content to suit the needs of different audiences, with an understanding of how to use audience research to inform how to best engage different audiences.
