About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Control Room Technician to join our team at Alstom, a leading company in the mobility sector. As a Control Room Technician, you will provide technical support to our customer control room staff while the train is in service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interface with customer control room staff to resolve performance or in-service failures
  • Manage in-service failures during service hours, monitoring live ORBITA feed to identify emerging issues
  • Complete remote investigations of in-service failures using ORBITA, OTMR, CCTV, and other available systems
  • Raise work orders on the MAXIMO system
  • Monitor ORBITA feed for AVIS output and plan AVIS tasks into available maintenance schedule slots at the depot
  • Provide rapid technical support to customer operations teams and coordinate activities relating to in-service failures
  • Conduct high-level fault finding on units while providing on-going technical advice to managers and technicians

About You

We value passion and attitude over experience. To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
  • Good level of EMU technical knowledge
  • Ability to demonstrate investigating electrical engineering problems and providing solutions
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical engineering problems and present solutions to customers
  • Proven ability to carry out complex electrical maintenance, repair, and modification tasks on Rolling Stock
  • Knowledge of computer-based asset management systems to record and close out work completed
  • Fault finding/diagnosis – electrical & mechanical
  • Bombardier system knowledge (Orbita and Maximo)
  • IT skills, including Excel and Lotus Notes
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Meticulous record keeping
