About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at The St Leonards Academy. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and achievement of our pupils, particularly those who receive Pupil Premium funding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide academic support to pupils in small groups and on an individual basis, focusing on their specific needs and abilities.
  • Develop and implement engaging and stimulating activities that promote learning and encourage pupil participation.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of lessons, working closely with teachers to ensure seamless integration of support.
  • Monitor and track pupil progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness to inform targeted support.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a teaching or support role, with a strong understanding of child development and learning theories.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to support pupil learning.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
