Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive planning frameworks and services for major projects, multi-project portfolios, or business areas.
  • Provide strategic direction and monitor delivery aligned with overall vision and objectives.
  • Support the long-term success of planning performance for specified engines/sectors/hubs and contribute to broader company goals.
  • Ensure projects and tenders are effectively planned, scheduled, and monitored, leading the application of specific planning/scheduling methods, techniques, and tools.
  • Facilitate the production of project Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and prepare, monitor, and forecast baseline and working schedules during all project phases.
  • Establish and maintain a basis of schedule for all schedules produced and ensure all applicable schedule activities have rules of credit and quantity tracking mechanisms established.
  • Identify and track all changes or potential changes to the project baseline and subsequent underpinning of change control mechanisms.
  • Prepare progress reports, including earned value analysis, identifying critical areas and trends, and recommend recovery options.
  • Maintain the planning database and validate data across systems, providing required information to support the risk process.
  • Ensure the accuracy of data communicated and reported to all stakeholders and highlight current and potential issues to senior management.
  • Maintain compliance with approved processes, procedures, and project execution plans and actively contribute to continuous improvement of functional quality and performance of project controls.

Requirements:

  • Exposure to working as a Primavera P6 project planner on large-scale infrastructure projects, ideally for a tier 1 contractor or client-side consultancy.
  • A construction-related degree (civil/structural engineering, or construction/project management or equivalent).
  • Digitally savvy, with the ability to build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams.
  • Experience of working on large projects/programmes and a construction or project management background.

  • Mentoring and upskilling of inexperienced planners and implementation of planning principles within the project management community.
  • Working with a large range of stakeholders and planning of complicated infrastructure projects and summarization of these into portfolio-level schedules.
  • Experienced P6 user (P6 pro) and familiarization with P6 EPPM (Web) for configuration management.
  • Management of large data sets into simple reporting formats, through coding and layout manipulation, baseline control, and configuration.
  • Schedule import and export, NEC, construction - living accommodation, offices, workshops, sports facilities, associated infrastructure, and familiarization with other planning software - Microsoft Project, Asta Power Project.
  • Schedule risk analysis (QSRA), P6 configuration management - user access, OBS creation and management, user profiles, OBS assignment, set up and use of resources, and use of P6 for EVM.
  • Membership of APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, AACE, IRM, IEMA, or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
  • Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise, strong commercial and financial acumen, leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams, and experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
