We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join our People Services Team as Deputy Director of People Services. This is a key role that will play a critical part in helping us deliver exceptional people services to the organisation.
Main Responsibilities- Provide leadership in the delivery of major organisational and system change projects, ensuring seamless integration across the organisation.
- Offer expert HR advice to the organisation, including employment law updates and complex employee relations issues.
- Ensure the effective management and resolution of employee relations cases, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Develop and implement people policies and procedures that are legally compliant, embed best practice, and reflect the organisation's values.
- Utilise organisational data to inform decision-making, driving business growth and improvement.
- Make informed judgements about significant organisational projects or priorities, even with incomplete or contradictory information, and effectively communicate the rationale to stakeholders.
- Influence internal and external stakeholders to support complex, long-term projects and initiatives that align with the organisation's strategic objectives.
- Accountable for the development and delivery of substantial organisational and system-wide projects, impacting staff across the organisation.
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of the People Services Directorate and line management of the senior leadership team.
- Participate in the organisation's on-call rota at the appropriate level.
- Evidence of continuous professional development, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
- MA HR Management or associated subject.
- Substantial and relevant senior management experience in a key operational role within healthcare.
- Business planning, objective setting, and performance management experience.
- Experience of leading, coaching, and building capability in an organisation.
- Experience of collaborative working, building effective partnerships with Trade Union representatives.
- Experience of leading on Staff Experience, including reward, recognition, engagement, wellbeing, diversity, and inclusion.
- A modern approach to people management, demonstrating an effective balance of leadership styles and creating high-performance team environments.
- Ability to develop and deliver effective and sustainable workforce plans in line with key workforce performance trends and strategic objectives.
- Understanding of the local system working infrastructure, including priorities and plans, and how the people agenda contributes to the wider delivery of developing ICS strategy and approaches.
