Job Title: Community Health Liaison Specialist

This key position within the established Liaison and Diversion Service for Police Custody Suites and Magistrates Courts will be offered as a permanent post.

Main Duties:
  • Liaise with individuals who have substance misuse, mental health, learning disability, or other vulnerabilities when they first come into contact with the criminal justice system.
  • Support onward planning and intervention to address needs across agencies.
  • Offer brief community-based interventions to maximize service user access and engagement with appropriate services.

The role requires creativity in addressing problems and making judgements that require analysis and interpretation. The ability to work effectively on a shift basis is essential, considering the service operates 7 days per week, 8-8, when fully operational.
