Job Description:

Breedon Group plc is seeking an experienced and self-motivated individual to manage the Middleton Quarry in Middleton-in-Teesdale. This role will report into the Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and operate the quarry safely and efficiently in line with the Quarries Regulations 1999.
  • Oversee the production of high PSV and sand & gravel aggregates.
  • Implement planned preventative maintenance schemes to minimize downtime and optimize production.
  • Monitor and reduce energy consumption to minimize environmental impact.
  • Continuously improve quarry operations through process optimization and innovation.
  • Manage teams of Breedon staff and contractors to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Requirements:
  • Hold a QCF level 6 (equivalent NVQ level 4/5) in Health, Safety & Environmental management within the extractives industry.
  • Possess good leadership skills to promote a positive team working environment.
  • Communicate effectively with other functions within the business.
  • Have experience of holding a regulation 8.1 appointment in previous roles.
  • Hold proof of competencies relating to that appointment.
