Job Title: SEN English Teacher

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated SEN English Teacher to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a SEN English Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education and support to students with special educational needs.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the curriculum as prescribed by our schemes of work, effectively planning lessons that cater to a wide range of abilities and communication needs. You will work closely with the Head Teacher and other members of the leadership team to ensure the successful delivery of the school's vision, ethos, and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver the curriculum as prescribed by our schemes of work.
  • Effectively plan lessons that are stimulating, relevant, and well-structured to cater to a wide range of abilities and communication needs.
  • Work with the Head Teacher and other members of the leadership team to ensure the successful delivery of the school's vision, ethos, and objectives.
  • Deliver effective teaching and learning, monitor, and evaluate the quality of teaching support and standards of students' achievement.
  • Participate in the recruitment and retention of the best employees and ensure an effective induction for all new starters.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher status.
  • Desirable but not essential, knowledge and experience of the KS3 and 4 curriculum and examinations.
  • Thorough working knowledge of the curriculum and how to adapt this for pupils with SEN.
  • Desirable, experience of working with young people with ASD and SEMH.
  • Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedure.
  • Ability to create and maintain nurturing relationships with young people.
  • Experience of managing a range of approaches to learning, to include the students with anxiety.
  • Knowledge of strategies and visual teaching methods to engage reluctant learners.
