Job Title: SEN English Teacher

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN English teacher to join our team at a large SEN school in Darwen. As a SEN English teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality educational activities and experiences for students with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver lessons according to DFE guidance and the school's policies to enable students to achieve their full potential.
  • Work with the Head Teacher and other members of the leadership team to ensure the successful delivery of the school's vision, ethos, aims, and objectives.
  • Deliver effective teaching and learning, monitor, and evaluate the quality of teaching support and standards of students' achievement.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and review practice in the classroom and implement strategies to ensure that under-performance is challenged and appropriate changes to practice are implemented.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher status
  • Desirable but not essential, knowledge and experience of the KS3 and 4 curriculum and examinations
  • Thorough working knowledge of the curriculum and how to adapt this for pupils with SEN
  • Desirable, experience of working with young people with ASD and SEMH
  • Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedure
