About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rheumatology Specialist to join our team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust. As a Senior Fellow in Rheumatology, you will play a key role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our rheumatology services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Run outpatient clinics in rheumatology, providing expert care and advice to patients.
  • Review inpatients and provide guidance to junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.
  • Hold the rheumatology on-call bleep, providing 24/7 support to the team.
  • Supervise junior doctors and medical students, providing mentorship and training.
  • Develop and implement education programs, including teaching medical students and delivering lectures.
  • Contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives, using your expertise to drive innovation and excellence.
Requirements
  • Primary medical qualification (e.g. MB, MBBS)
  • GMC licence to practice in the UK
  • MRCP Part 1
  • Desirable: MRCP Part 2, experience of postgraduate rheumatology, working in an outpatient setting, running clinics, MSK ultrasound, research experience, teaching experience
