Job Summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced rheumatologist to join our team. As a Senior Fellow in Rheumatology Specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert care to patients with rheumatic diseases, including inflammatory arthritis and connective tissue diseases.

Main Responsibilities
  • Run outpatient clinics in rheumatology, providing expert care to patients with rheumatic diseases.
  • Review inpatients and provide advice to general practitioners and secondary care specialists.
  • Hold the rheumatology on-call bleep, providing 24/7 coverage for the department.
  • Supervise junior doctors and medical students, providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Develop skills in musculoskeletal ultrasound and participate in research projects.

Requirements
  • Primary medical qualification (e.g. MB, MBBS)
  • GMC licence to practice in the UK
  • MRCP Part 1
  • Desirable: MRCP Part 2, experience of postgraduate rheumatology, and experience of working in an outpatient setting.
