Job Summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced rheumatology specialist to join our team. As a Senior Fellow in Rheumatology, you will play a key role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our rheumatology department.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for running outpatient clinics in rheumatology, reviewing inpatients, and providing advice to GPs and secondary care specialists. You will also be encouraged to supervise junior doctors, develop skills in musculoskeletal ultrasound, and participate in our education program, including teaching medical students.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have a primary medical qualification, a GMC licence to practice in the UK, and MRCP Part 1. Desirable qualifications include MRCP Part 2, previous experience of postgraduate rheumatology, and experience of working in an outpatient setting.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and team-working skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team. They will also be able to demonstrate behaviours that meet the Trust's values, including Patients First, Always Improving, and Working Together.
