Apprentice Quantity Surveyor

Gap Construction is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire. As a key member of the head office team, you will be responsible for preparing tender and contract documents, undertaking cost analysis, and supporting land acquisitions.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain accurate cost estimates and budgets for construction projects;
- Collaborate with the Contracts Manager to prepare tender and contract documents;
- Conduct thorough cost analysis for ad hoc repair and maintenance project work;
- Provide cost information and risk analysis to support land acquisitions;
- Perform cost control for risk and value management;
- Identify and develop responses to commercial risks;
- Prepare budgets for all aspects of project construction;
- Allocate orders for work to sub-contractors;
- Offer expert advice on contractual claims;
- Liaise with clients on Housing Association matters and attend their meetings;
- Regularly visit sites to ensure costs are controlled, subcontractors are managed, and quality is upheld;
- Fulfill duties in accordance with the Company's Health and Safety policy and procedures.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in quantity surveying or a related field;
- Surveying experience;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
