Quantity Surveyor Role

Gap Construction is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire. As a key member of the main contractor's head office, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Prepare and manage tender and contract documents in collaboration with the Contracts Manager.
  2. Conduct cost analysis for ad hoc repair and maintenance project work, providing valuable insights to inform decision-making.
  3. Support land acquisitions by providing cost information and risk analysis, ensuring the company's interests are protected.
  4. Perform cost control for risk and value management, identifying potential issues and developing effective solutions.
  5. Identify, analyze, and develop responses to commercial risks, mitigating potential threats to the company's success.
  6. Prepare budgets for all aspects of project construction, ensuring accurate forecasting and financial planning.
  7. Allocate orders for work to sub-contractors, managing relationships and ensuring timely completion.
  8. Provide expert advice on contractual claims, resolving disputes and protecting the company's interests.
  9. Liaise with clients relating to Housing Association matters, attending meetings and providing updates.
  10. Make regular site visits to ensure costs are controlled, subcontractors are managed, and quality is upheld.
  11. Fulfill duties in accordance with the Company's Health and Safety policy and procedures, prioritizing the well-being of employees and stakeholders.
  12. Work collaboratively as part of a team, leveraging individual strengths to achieve collective goals.
  13. Bring surveying experience and a degree in quantity surveying or a related field to the role, applying theoretical knowledge in a practical context.
