Main Duties of the Job

We are seeking a skilled Senior Medical Secretary and Patient Pathway Supervisor to join our team at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and monitoring patients through their treatment pathway, ensuring compliance with RTT, cancer pathways, and local waiting time standards.

  • Manage Administration Teams.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative, clerical, and audio typing support to consultants and their teams.
  • Link with operational management team to ensure that RTT, Cancer, and EPR letter performance standards are met.
  • Serve as a key liaison between the Trust and outsourced dictation services, or voice recognition services, for the majority of clinical administration.

Person Specification
  • Previous experience of managing and supervising staff, or working towards this, including allocation of work, identification of training and development needs, performance and management.
  • Previous NHS/Medical secretary experience or waiting list experience.
Skills Required
  • Previous supervisory and/or management skills, or working towards these.
Qualifications
  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English.
  • Supervisory or management qualification or training.
