Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our busy Contracts Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing sub-contracts, conducting cost appraisals, and ensuring timely project closures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Sub-contracts: Source, negotiate, and administer sub-contracts to ensure timely and cost-effective resolutions.
  • Cost Appraisals and Pre-start Meetings: Conduct thorough cost appraisals and participate in pre-start meetings to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Formalise Sub-contract Orders: Prepare and issue formal sub-contract orders using Docusign to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Process Sub-contractor Applications and Invoices: Oversee the processing of sub-contractor applications and invoices to ensure timely payments.
  • Negotiate and Agree Sub-contract Variations: Manage variations to sub-contracts to ensure timely and cost-effective resolutions.
  • Manage Sub-contract Collateral Warranties: Coordinate collateral warranties for clients and tenants to ensure their interests are protected.
  • Measure and Cost Labour-Only Packages: Calculate costs for labour-only packages to ensure accurate pricing.
  • Book in Weekly Labour-Only Packages: Schedule labour-only packages as required to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Swift Conclusion to Sub-contract Accounts: Swiftly conclude sub-contract accounts to ensure timely payments and minimize cash flow disruptions.
  • Agree Monthly Client Valuations: Collaborate with clients to agree on monthly valuations to ensure transparency and trust.
  • Price and Agree Any Client VO's: Negotiate and agree client valuation objections (VO's) to ensure fair and reasonable outcomes.
  • Issue Notifications of Delay: Notify clients of delays to project timelines to ensure they are informed and can plan accordingly.
  • Prepare Extension of Time Claims: Develop claims for extensions of time to project deadlines to ensure fairness and reasonableness.
  • Swift Conclusion to Final Account: Conclude final accounts with clients to ensure smooth project closures and minimize potential disputes.
  • Conversant in JCT Contracts: Possess knowledge of JCT contracts and their application to ensure compliance and effective project management.
  • Value Engineering Focus: Apply value engineering principles throughout projects to optimize resources and deliver improved outcomes.
  • Develop Strong Relationships: Foster strong relationships with clients and sub-contractors to ensure trust, transparency, and effective communication.
  • Mainly Office-Based with Site Visits as Required.
Requirements and Qualifications

A minimum of 5 years post-graduate work experience is required for this role.

Work Arrangements

This is a full-time position with standard working hours:

Monday to Thursday: 8am - 5:30pm

Friday: 8am - 4:30pm
