We are seeking a highly motivated and driven individual to join our team at GRS Group as a Sales Development Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying opportunities in the market for fixed asset supply of primary aggregates, recycled aggregates, secondary aggregates, and muck away, as well as developing relationships with existing customers for additional volume and continued supply.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the project manager in all aspects of the role, including regular customer site and office visits.
  • Develop new business relationships, generate and negotiate new income to agreed annual targets.
  • Prospect for new opportunities with existing and prospective customers, specifically around our fixed assets.
  • Manage internal systems for customer quoting, account management, and query management.
  • Identify and communicate with Divisional Directors specific opportunities and projects available across the group.
  • Develop business and commercial plans with CD for new assets.
  • Work closely with fixed asset transport team for full utilization of own fleet.
  • Set business development strategy in conjunction with senior team, streamlining customer base and target markets.
  • Develop and present an understanding of sustainability to recognize value in our fixed assets.
  • Key account management.
  • Anticipate customer changes and continuously look to drive operational and commercial efficiencies.
  • Manage customer feedback.
  • Responsible for delivery against the area budget in line with agreed targets and KPIs.
  • Report and present commercial plans to divisional leaders, participating in commercial and strategy team meetings, including a pipeline of work and 3-month forecasts.

Requirements:

  • Commercial experience within the Aggregate and Waste market.
  • Self-starter with business development initiatives.
  • Consultative approach, able to identify specific needs and requirements, and driven to deliver a customer experience that exceeds expectations.
  • Strong communication skills and able to build effective relationships at all levels across the business, including customers, prospects, project owners, and internal teams.
  • Strategic thinker who can pre-empt and solve any problems to the satisfaction of the customer.
  • Strong negotiator.
  • Great problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Experience with conducting research and data analysis.
  • Able to meet given deadlines.
