Palliative Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Palliative Care Specialist to join our team at St Margaret of Scotland Hospice. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to make a real difference in the lives of patients and their families.

About the Role
  • To provide specialist palliative care within the Hospice and community setting, working closely with members of the multi-professional team.
  • To participate in daily Ward Rounds, weekly Grand Ward Rounds, and daily Patient handovers within the Specialist Palliative Care Centre – St Joseph's Ward.
  • To establish oneself as a resource, facilitator, and role model for Specialist Palliative Care within the Hospice in-patient and community settings.
Key Responsibilities
  1. To work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
  2. To assess and address the needs of patients living at home with life-threatening illnesses and their carers through direct and indirect care.
  3. To participate in the Hospice Virtual Clinic and/or deputise for the Community Palliative Care Lead as required.
Requirements
  • Experience of working in palliative care within a hospice or community setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
