Job Description

As a Business Development Director at Version 1, you will be responsible for driving business growth and expansion in the Financial Services sector. This role requires a strong understanding of the industry and the ability to develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospect for and develop new business opportunities with Financial Services clients across Banking, Capital Markets, and Insurance sectors.
  • Lead sales teams to secure and deliver profitable business, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver client-facing presentations, proposals, and tender responses.
  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with channel partners to build effective collaborations and drive new business growth.
  • Communicate the value of Version 1's products and services to clients, leveraging lead generation, events, and client presentations to drive sales.
  • Qualify sales opportunities to ensure they are winnable, with a clear win strategy and differentiation.
  • Manage pipeline, financial forecasting, activity tracking, and strategic management to achieve financial KPIs.
  • Establish long-term relationships with senior-level stakeholders in strategic and designated growth accounts.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of solution-based consultative selling to technology and business stakeholders in Financial Services, up to CxO level.
  • Knowledge of key business-technology topics relevant to Financial Services firms.
  • Experience leading successful digital transformation sales engagements, incorporating technologies and services across Applications, Data, AI, and Cloud.
  • Consistent track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in a highly competitive environment.
  • Ability to develop and explain compelling value propositions to senior-level stakeholders.
  • Experience building and maintaining trusted client relationships.

Experience:

  • Extensive experience in a sales environment, with a strong and recent background in the Financial Services sector.
  • Experience working as a successful business development director delivering IT services and technology solutions into the Financial Services sector in the UK for national and global firms.
  • Influencing skills, with the ability to form and lead teams operating across a highly matrixed organisation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage at all levels across an organisation internally and externally.
