Role Description

This is a key role within the Portering and Security Department at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of duties, including:

  • Providing a timely and efficient service to patients, visitors, and departments
  • Carrying out portering duties, including patient transfers, waste removal, and moving bulky items
  • Maintaining a safe and secure environment within the hospital

The position involves working a 24-hour, 365-day shift pattern, including rotations of 7am - 3pm, 3pm to 11pm, and 11pm to 7am. We offer a competitive hourly rate of £11.50 per hour, plus additional payments for unsociable hours, Saturday working, and Sunday working.

Compensation and Benefits

Our compensation package includes:

  • Basic Hourly Rate: £11.50 per hour
  • Unsociable Hours: 45% extra per hour on top of basic payment (20:00pm - 06:00am)
  • Saturday Working: 45% extra per hour on top of basic payment
  • Sunday Working: 90% extra per hour on top of basic payment
