Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vascular Surgeon to join our team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Vascular Surgeon, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a team of healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development of our vascular services.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy and dynamic environment, with a strong focus on patient-centered care and innovation. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working closely with other healthcare professionals to deliver excellent patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of vascular conditions
  • Lead a team of healthcare professionals, including junior doctors, nurses, and other support staff
  • Contribute to the development of our vascular services, including service improvement initiatives and research projects
  • Participate in teaching and training activities, including medical student and junior doctor education
  • Engage in clinical governance and audit activities to ensure high-quality patient care
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Full and Specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • Appropriate higher surgical qualification in Vascular Surgery (e.g. FRCS, FEBVS)
  • Experience in vascular surgery, including clinical training and experience in vascular surgery equivalent to that required for UK CCST
  • Ability to work as an independent practitioner in the specialty covered by the post
  • Good written communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
