About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Vascular Surgeon to join our team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our vascular service, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a team of healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development of our service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing expert vascular surgical care to patients, including elective and emergency procedures
  • Leading a team of healthcare professionals, including junior doctors and nurses, to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Contributing to the development of our vascular service, including service improvement initiatives and research projects
  • Participating in clinical governance and audit activities to ensure the highest standards of patient care
  • Engaging in teaching and training activities to support the development of junior doctors and medical students

Person Specification

  • Full and Specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) or eligibility for registration within six months of interview
  • Appropriate higher surgical qualification in Vascular Surgery (e.g. FRCS, FEBVS)
  • Clinical training and experience in vascular surgery equivalent to that required for UK CCST
  • Ability to work as an independent practitioner in the specialty covered by the post
  • Experience of teaching medical students and junior doctors
  • Participation in CME/CPD in the last 12 months
