Job Title: Biomedical Scientist

 

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Scientist to join our team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Biomedical Scientist, you will be responsible for participating in all aspects of analytical work and adhering to the 'Standards of Proficiency' as defined by the Health and Care Professions Council.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all aspects of analytical work
  • Adhere to the 'Standards of Proficiency' as defined by the Health and Care Professions Council
  • Provide a capillary phlebotomy service and assist with provision
  • Participate in providing an out-of-hours service, as well as weekend and bank holiday working

About the Role:

As a Biomedical Scientist at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and friendly department that provides a range of routine and specialist testing. You will be expected to work in the Clinical Chemistry department at Sheffield Children's Hospital and may be required to work in other laboratories within the trust.

Requirements:

  • IBMS accredited BSC in Biomedical Sciences or equivalent
  • Registered with HCPC as a Biomedical Scientist
  • Commitment to complete the relevant Specialist BMS IBMS portfolio
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to produce accurate and precise work
