About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Scientist to join our team in the Haematology laboratories at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing scientific services to patients as an aid to clinical diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as an HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist, providing scientific services to patients.
  • Participate in the 24/7 out-of-hours rota and undertake a wide range of complex analytical procedures.
  • Perform manual, semi-automated, and automated tests using scientific knowledge and experience to comment upon and validate results in line with ISO 15189.
  • Be responsible for the production of accurate and timely laboratory investigations.
  • Assist in maintaining high scientific and technical standards.
  • Adhere to all Trust and Departmental Policies.
  • Assist in planned research and development.
  • Promote and maintain a high standard of relevant education and training.
  • Stimulate and take part in scientific and technical research and development.
