Strategic Planning Manager

- You will manage the delivery of key assignments and defined business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with overall vision and objectives.
- You will support the long-term success of planning performance for specified engines/sectors/hubs and the overall contribution to the broader company goals.
- You will support the planning function in ensuring projects and tenders are effectively planned, scheduled, and monitored.
- You will develop detailed plans taking full cognisance of logistics/site/project constraints.
- You will interface with project teams, contributing to the production of the weekly progress report to the project team and understand functional obligations under the form of contract.
- You will review and capture productivity to measure progress.
- You will communicate effectively with the client, project team, and stakeholders.
- You will incorporate sustainable design and procurement processes within integrated programmes.
- You will ensure health and safety through programme integration.
- You will establish and oversee project work plans and deadlines.
- You will undertake tasks required to fulfill the requirements of the project/assignment.
- You will be responsible for coordinating activities for teams.
- You will work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

You will need to have:
- Established experience in the built environment and with projects.
- Understanding of different procurement routes and types and forms of contract.
- Basic understanding of Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) stages.
- Able to respond to all client/stakeholder requests effectively and sensitively.
- Communicate and present to project teams on programme drivers, goals, and issues, etc.
- Listens effectively and probes for new and diverse ideas.
- Working towards professional qualification (e.g. CIOB, APM, PMI).
- Other relevant qualifications specific to local requirements.
You will also have:
- Membership of APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, AACE, IRM, IEMA, or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
- Extensive experience in the successful planning of projects and programmes in the consult sector.
- Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.
- Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
- Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
- Understanding of contract administration.
- Exposure to the principles or use of different types of contracts.
- Effective decision-making skills.
- Ability to challenge constructively.
- Management skills.
- Relevant degree in the built environment, business/management studies, etc., or NVQ level 3.
