About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at The Principal York. As a key member of our kitchen brigade, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Executive Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management, including rota planning, stock control, and staff delegation.
  • Develop and implement new menu ideas, ensuring high-quality dishes that meet our culinary standards.
  • Lead and motivate the kitchen team, fostering a positive and creative work environment.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety standards, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to achieve business objectives, driving revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire the team.
  • Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and exceeding guest expectations.
