Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Engineer to plan, execute and complete engineering projects in the Cathelco/HEM Water Systems sector. This role includes coordinating with cross-functional teams, managing project resources, ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality standards, and providing expert technical support to project teams and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Management:
    • Develop comprehensive project plans including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
    • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or issues, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
    • Coordinate with various teams to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Technical Oversight and Support:
    • Provide technical guidance to project teams and clients, including troubleshooting and resolving engineering challenges.
    • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, codes, and regulations.
    • Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations.
    • Serve as a technical expert for project teams and clients, offering support to the Spares Department.
  • Commercial Awareness:
    • Understand the commercial impact of project decisions and implement cost-saving strategies.
    • Negotiate favorable terms with suppliers and contractors.
    • Support business development by identifying new project opportunities and improving Spares Department processes.
  • Client Communication:
    • Maintain strong client relationships, ensuring satisfaction, and providing technical support as needed.
  • Change Management:
    • Manage changes to project scope, schedule, or budget, assessing impacts and implementing adjustments.
  • R&D, Quality & Documentation:
    • Assist in product development tasks to enhance the product portfolio.
    • Maintain and improve core documentation to meet client requirements.
    • Monitor and uphold product quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree in engineering or a related field OR equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in project engineering or a similar role with a proven record of technical support and commercial awareness.
  • Skills:
    • Strong project management skills (planning, scheduling, budgeting).
    • Technical expertise in engineering principles and practices.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Commercial acumen and understanding of business operations.

Estimated Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
