Mental Health and Wellbeing Teaching Assistant Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a modern and pupil-centred Primary School in the Borough of Redbridge, South East London. The successful candidate will work closely with the SEND, Pastoral, and Safeguarding teams to address the additional needs of students and reduce barriers to learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Mentor students with SEND, SEMH, and Safeguarding requirements.
  • Develop strong relationships with pupils and support their emotional and mental wellbeing.
  • Plan and deliver group sessions and 1:1 sessions to address the needs of students.
Requirements:
  • A graduate with an interest in SEMH or SEN, or non-graduates with mentoring or counselling experience.
  • Previous experience or a passion for working with young people to make a positive impact on their lives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with students and colleagues.
  • Hardworking, resilient, and positive attitude.
