Mental Health Clinical Supervisor Position in Redbridge

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to join our team as a Mental Health Clinical Supervisor in the London Borough of Redbridge. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a dynamic and supportive team, contributing to the delivery of high-quality mental health services to children and young people.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development of our Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) within Redbridge, under the direction of the team manager. The role involves working closely with senior mental health leads in schools to ensure a whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing.
You will be responsible for caseload management and supervision of Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs), who provide direct help to children, young people, and parents in educational settings. This includes delivering evidence-based interventions, providing whole-school mental health support, and attending team meetings as required.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience working with children and young people, ideally in a child and adolescent mental health setting or educational setting. They should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other professionals and parents/carers.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialist mental health assessments and interventions for schools, parents, children, and young people at an individual, group, and whole-school level.
- Supervise EMHPs when they are working independently, ensuring safe practice and governance obligations are met.
- Support EMHP staff in co-delivering training sessions, including attendance at practice skills sessions and formative feedback sessions with teaching staff.
- Prepare and present case load information on an agreed and scheduled basis to ensure safe practice and governance obligations are met.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- SIGNIFICANT experience of utilising a range of professional skills at post-qualifying level in a child and adolescent mental health setting or educational setting.
- EVIDENCE of understanding of educational systems and practice in England.
- PREVIOUS experience in supervision, preferably with CYP-IAPT Supervision training or supervising junior clinicians or trainees.
- ABILITY to deliver evidence-based intervention to children, young people, and their families.
- EVIDENCE of collaborative working practice with other professionals and parents/carers.
