About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Programme Management Office Manager to lead our large-scale warehouse automation capital investment project. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering a complex, multi-phase programme that meets the needs of our business.

As Programme Management Office Manager, you will lead business-wide stakeholders, both nationally and internationally, to achieve key milestones. You will be responsible for managing risks, issues, and dependencies, constructing suitable action plans to rectify and deliver the project. You will also undertake cross-functional analysis of project and programme data to identify trends and inform business planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, develop, and train a team of programme managers
  • Actively manage and escalate risks, issues, and dependencies, constructing suitable action plans to rectify and deliver the project
  • Undertake cross-functional analysis of project and programme data to identify trends and inform business planning
  • Identify and drive efficiency opportunities across programmes, ensuring resources are utilised in the most effective way
  • Maintain standards for all internal and external documents and output
  • Develop and maintain constructive working relationships with external partners, managing Aldi's partners within contract guidelines
  • Ensure the project meets or exceeds required levels of availability, performance, and delivers against agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
  • Manage Capex budget through to delivery
  • Develop and train the team, conducting appraisals and providing support
  • Manage resources to assess and support the feasibility of projects in conjunction with the Operations Team
  • Develop, critique, and present proposals and reports, with supporting business cases
  • Perform administrative functions, such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, managing policies, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services
  • Conduct personnel administration and support hiring and induction processes
  • Drive a culture of learning from developments in the projects, taking learnings to impart on the wider stakeholder group
About You

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Articulate and numerate communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Project and/or Programme Management experience
  • Experience in PMO Management
  • Industry experience in a management role
  • Leadership/Team Management experience
  • Management of 3PL, cost savings, and budget management
  • Experience of stakeholder management at all levels
  • Strong Project/Programme management experience in a retail or similar fast-paced environment
  • A good understanding of managing moving deadlines, multiple project strands, and critical paths
  • Computer literacy, including strong office skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, and Outlook
  • Previous experience of managing data and creating reporting templates
  • Utilising data to identify risks and opportunities and to develop new ideas and concepts
