Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and qualified teacher to join our team as a Teacher of the Deaf for Children with Complex Needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting special school teachers, early years settings, and parents/carers in developing and managing approaches and provision for deaf children with additional needs.

About the Role

This is a full-time permanent position based at Margaret McMillan Tower, Bradford. As a Teacher of the Deaf, you will carry out the responsibilities of the role including:

  • Supporting special school teachers, early years settings, and parents/carers in developing and managing approaches and provision for deaf children with additional needs.
  • Optimising outcomes for deaf children with complex needs using a thorough understanding of special school curriculum to carry out planning, assessment, teaching, training, and support for staff.
  • Providing balanced, unbiased support and advice to families enabling them to make informed choices for their deaf children.
  • Working in partnership with other agencies involved in services to deaf children.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Current experience of working with children who have severe and profound additional and complex needs.
  • A commitment to providing high-quality education and support to deaf children and their families.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in partnership with other agencies.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits including:
