Role Overview
We are seeking a creative and innovative Qualified Teacher to join our Bradford Deaf & MSI Children and Young People Service. The successful candidate will have current experience of working with children who have severe and profound additional complex needs and will be responsible for supporting deaf children and their families during their early years and in special schools.
Key Responsibilities
- Support special school teachers, early years settings, and parents/carers in developing and managing approaches and provision for deaf children with additional needs.
- Optimise outcomes for deaf children with complex needs using a thorough understanding of special school curriculum to carry out planning, assessment, teaching, training, and support for staff.
- Provide balanced, unbiased support and advice to families to enable them to make an informed choice for their deaf children.
- Work in partnership with other agencies involved in services to deaf children.
Requirements
We welcome applications from experienced and qualified Teachers of the Deaf, as well as outstanding qualified teachers with substantial experience teaching children with severe and profound additional complex needs who are looking to develop their career in working with deaf children.
The service would be willing to support the successful candidate to undertake training to achieve the mandatory qualification.
