We are seeking an experienced Senior Residential Care Manager to join our team at A Wilderness Way, a leading provider of residential care for children who have suffered trauma and adversity. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a Multi-Building Registration and providing leadership, management, and operational support to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and education services.

About the Role

This is a pioneering opportunity to lead in a new role under the Multi-Building Registration Ofsted Policy Guidance. You will work closely with our Operations Manager and Assistant Manager to effectively manage your service, supporting children predominantly for a period of around 4 months. Your positive outlook and ability to see beyond behaviours will be essential in working towards the progression and development of the children in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of support workers to deliver exceptional care and education services.
  • Set the operational direction and organise the effective running of the service to meet its statement of purpose.
  • Mentor and support our residential support workers to achieve their full potential.
  • Work in partnership with external agencies to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 12 months' experience managing a residential children's home.
  • Extensive experience managing a team of support workers.
  • In-depth knowledge of the SCCIF and Children's Home Regulations and Quality standards.
  • Ideal qualifications include a Level 5 Leadership and Management Diploma.
  • A creative and passionate approach to working with children.
  • The ability to collaborate with and support the team to create an exceptional service.
  • A full, valid, UK driving licence and access to your own transport.
