Thornbury Community Services is seeking a skilled and compassionate adult nurse to join our team in delivering high-quality care and support to individuals in their community.

About the Role

We are looking for a female adult nurse with a minimum of 12 months of experience in complex care to work with a client with an acquired brain injury. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ventilation, gastrostomy care, and bowel management, as well as experience with mechanical cough assist and chest physiotherapy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver bespoke care and support to individuals in their community, enabling them to achieve their personal goals and improve their quality of life.
  • Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care and support.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each client.
  • Provide education and training to clients and their families on care and management techniques.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote high-quality care and support.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

  • A minimum of 6 months of experience in the last 2 years in complex care.
  • Recent experience in ventilation via mask, care and use of gastrostomy, deep suctioning, chest physio/Percussion/Vibration, mechanical cough assist, and bowel management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
