Job Description

Baltic Recruitment Limited is seeking a skilled Central Planner to join their team. As a key member of the transport department, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a range of duties in support of the central planning function.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Route Optimization: Responsible for the day-to-day routing of vehicles within the business in an efficient and effective manner, working as part of a centralized team.
  • Health, Safety & Environment: Implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Scheduling: Scheduling all vehicles for the sites/region allocated to this role, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods.
  • Driver Management: Holiday and absence driver management for the sites/region allocated to this role, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Communication: Driver briefing and de-briefing in coordination with regional traffic operators, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  • Training: Ensuring drivers are available for all necessary training, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintenance: Ensuring vehicles are available for all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Reporting: Producing and providing all relevant reporting, ensuring timely and accurate information for management.
  • Performance: Ensuring all planning objectives are met and exceeded when possible, driving business growth and efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Time Management: Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining compliance.
  • Leadership: An ability to motivate and engage the team in understanding best practice and compliance with all regulatory and company requirements.
  • Teamwork: An ability to develop and maintain a harmonious team working environment, reducing points of conflict, and resolving any issues at the earliest stage possible.
  • Resource Management: An ability to make the best use of the resources available to address the agreed priorities.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: A comprehensive understanding and knowledge of all relevant regulatory, law and compliance legislation.
  • Data Analysis: An ability to analyse data to provide effective management reporting to enable fully informed decision making for the Transport Director.
  • Qualifications: Level 3 supervisory Management (ILM or CMI).
  • Experience: Previous experience of working in a planning environment for a liquid fuel distributor.
