**The Opportunity for the Visitor Centre Co-ordinator**
We are currently recruiting for a Visitor Centre Co-ordinator for our Hartlepool Power Station. This role will be a full time position, working Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week.
The role will be responsible for leading a team of Visitor Centre Station Guides, organising and facilitating station tours and educational visits, including outreach across the region. You will be the point of contact for all stakeholders building a relationship of trust and openness. The post will develop awareness of the role nuclear plays in the UK and its contribution to its local communities, its commitment to the highest standards of safety and contribution to society.

**What you’ll be doing** **as a Visitor Centre Co-ordinator**
- As a Centre Co-ordinator you will be responsible for safely managing the daily operations of Hartlepool Power Station Visitor Centre.
- Responsible for the end-to-end management of bookings including making sure paperwork is submitted in a timely manner by visitors, managing the visits diary and calendar, and responding to all enquiries as they come in.
- Organising large groups of external visitors and ensuring they are briefed and understand EDF’s safety requirements whilst undertaking tours.
- Forward plan, organise, market and deliver an agreed annual visitor centre plan and community engagement programme, ensuring it’s aligned to the Nuclear Generation community liaison plan.
- Lead, develop and manage a team of station guides to meet the centre’s demand and to deliver a complete visitor experience.
- Maintain, manage and develop effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain close coordination with other activities across the Company by participating in and reporting through Visitor Centre data.
- Develop classroom-based sessions which fit with the needs of the visitor groups (e.g. key stage activities for school groups).
- Develop volunteering and other community opportunities to promote the station in the community.
- Responsible for controlling spend against the Community/Visitor Centre budget.
- Lead on Community/charity engagement activities both internally and externally.
- Support external meetings with the local community where needed.
- Support station and Hartlepool Communications Lead with delivery of ad-hoc events and communications.

- You will ideally have experience of leading a team in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you may often be presented with unexpected situations, where quick thinking, good judgement and diplomacy is required.
- Are you able to identify, develop and continuously improve practices and processes as well as take ownership and accountability over your own and the teams workload?
- We’re looking for enthusiastic, motivated self-starter who’s able to work on their own initiative.
- You must be very customer focused and have a friendly and approachable manner.
- Understanding of the current context for the education sector, particularly careers information and advice & guidance with an understanding of emerging issues/topics.
- Experience of the design, development, and delivery of the new educational or skills programmes.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organisation skills with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders.
- Able to work effectively as part of a diverse team and understand the wider context for the role.
- Experience as a line manager or within a management role would be desirable.
- As a minimum, applicants should be educated to GCSE/National Qualification standards (or equivalent).
