Learning Support Assistant

About the Role:
Academics Ltd is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our SEMH School in New Milton. The successful candidate will have experience of supporting students with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).
Key Responsibilities:
Support students across the school on a 1:1, small group and classroom basis
Assist in managing challenging behaviour and promoting social and emotional development
Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop targeted work and coaching plans
Requirements:
Experience of supporting children with SEMH needs
Empathetic and kind approach with the ability to manage challenging behaviour
Resilient and able to work in a fast-paced environment
About the School:
Our SEMH School in New Milton provides a supportive and nurturing environment for students aged 7-16 who find mainstream school difficult. We pride ourselves on recognising the barriers to education of our young people and providing tailored support to help them overcome these challenges. Our school was rated 'Good' by Ofsted in 2019, where they praised our carefully crafted culture and curriculum for enabling students to make strong progress in their social and emotional development.
