Position Overview:
We are seeking dedicated Youth Care Specialists to join our team at Budwood, a division of Polaris Community. Our organization is committed to providing exceptional residential care and support for children and young individuals facing emotional and behavioral challenges, as well as social and emotional mental health issues.
Our Mission:
At Budwood, we strive to create a nurturing and stable environment for our young residents, many of whom have encountered adverse childhood experiences. Our goal is to offer them a safe and comfortable home where they can receive the necessary support and guidance to develop essential life skills for a successful transition into adulthood.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide individualized care and support tailored to the unique needs of each child and young adult.
2. Work collaboratively within a team to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained.
3. Promote the safety and well-being of all young residents, safeguarding their welfare at all times.
4. Build and maintain trusting relationships with the young people in your care.
5. Encourage and support the development of individual interests and skills of the young residents.
6. Flexibility in working hours is essential, as the role requires participation in a rotating shift pattern, including sleep-in duties.
7. Hold or be willing to pursue a relevant qualification in Residential Childcare or Health & Social Care, with the aim of achieving a Level 4 diploma.
8. Possess a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for travel purposes.
9. Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a willingness to learn and grow within the role.
10. Undergo an enhanced DBS check, which will be funded by Budwood.
Qualifications:
Experience working with children and young people, particularly those in care, is highly desirable. Familiarity with Emotional Behavioral Disorders, Social Work, or Youth Work will be advantageous.
